மூஷிக வாஹன மோதக ஹஸ்த

சாமர கர்ண விளம்பித சூத்ர

விக்ன விநாசக பாத நமஸ்தே

வ்யாஸ ஸ்துதி

வ்யாஸம் வசிஷ்ட நப்தாரம் சக்தே பௌத்ரமகல்மஷம்

பராஸராத்மஜம் வந்தே சௌகதாதம் தபோநிதிம்

வ்யாஸாய விஷ்ணுரூபாய வ்யாஸரூபாய விஷ்ணவே

நமோ வை ப்ரஹ்மநிதயே வாஸிஷ்டாய நமோ நம:

நீடாழி உலகத்து மறைநாலொடு ஐந்து என்ற நிலை நிற்கவே

வாடாத தவவாய்மை முனிராசன் மாபாரதம் சொன்னநாள்

ஏடாக வடமேரு வெற்பாக அங்கூர் எழுத்தாணிதன்

கோடாக எழுதும் பிரானைப் பணிந்து அன்பு கூர்வாமரோ

(நான்கு வேதங்களோடு ஐந்தாவதாக பாரதத்தை வ்யாஸ முனி கூற, தன் தந்தத்தை முறித்து எழுத்தாணியாக்கி பாரதம் முழுவதையும் எழுதிய விநாயகப்பெருமானை வணங்குவோம்)

இதிஹாஸ புராணாப்யாம் வேதம் ஸமுபப்ருமஹயேத்

பிமேத்யல்பஸ்ருதாத்வேதோ மாமயம் ப்ரசலிஷ்யதி

(Vedas should be learnt only through Ithihasas and Puranas; otherwise, they can be wrongly understood)

யதிஹாஸ்தி ததந்யத்ர யத்யேஹாஸ்தி த குத்ரசித்

(Philosophies found in Mahabharata can be found in other Sastras, but those not found in Mahabharata can never be found in other Sastras)

Namaskaram. In my effort to give our two great Epics in simple form with my drawings, so that they can be easily read by children and also by others, I first gave entire Ramayana in pictures. It can be read here: Ramayana in Pictures

I am now trying to give Mahabharata in pictures. I seek your wishes and support, which would give me strength to complete this great Epic. The episodes are based on “Villi Bharatham” by ‘Villiputhuraar’ written in Tamil. The presentations will be mostly bi-lingual.
